Construction Updates

As of October 21, 2014

The project has now entered the street reconstruction stage. Excavation of the street is now taking place.  Upon completion of the excavation and grading, curb and gutter will be installed.  During this process access to driveways will be restricted to allow curing of the concrete (about 7 days).  The curbs and gutters will first be poured on the north side of Hillside (expected October 23rd depending on weather conditions).  Upon the re-opening of the drives on the north side, the curb and gutter will be installed on the south side.    Work continues on relocating the utility poles by Toledo Edison followed by A.T. & T. and Buckeye Cable.

Residents are asked to refrain from parking on the street during working hours (7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.). During the concrete curing stage for the curb and gutters, driveways will be closed and we ask that neighbors help one another with parking.

Final pavement installation (again weather dependent) is expected to begin in mid-November followed by the installation of the sidewalks.

The south pilings have been completed. The north pilings are now being installed.  Weather has caused some delay, but the contractor is optimistic on completing the project in early December.

Columbia Gas Line Replacement

New service connections are now being made along Hillsdale, Osborn and Bacon. Gas main replacement is now being installed along Dixie Highway from Glenwood to the City line.

A gas line relocation is being done at Dixie Highway and Lime City Road. Traffic control is in place during day light hours, motorist can expect delays or re-routing via Schreier Rd.  Elm Tree will be closed at Lime City Rd.

Eagle Point Colony- Northwestern Water & Sewer District Project

Construction continues throughout the Colony area.  Concrete sidewalk and drive restoration is currently taking place where sewer work is complete.  Asphalt repair will begin the week of October 27, weather permitting, for parts of Riverside, Forest and Park Drives.  Traffic will be maintained.  Occasional reduced sewage usage while the contractor is installing new pipe in an area may be required.  This should be for four to eight hours.   Contractor will notify residents ahead of time.   Contractor will be working in the entire neighborhood for one to two months.  Privately owned items within the road right of way may be damaged and should be removed ahead of time.  Residents should note as contractor nears their property to coordinate to alleviate potential conflicts with planned activities.

Jennings Road Pump Station, Veteran’s Memorial Park – Northwestern Water & Sewer District
