New Residents
REFUSE COLLECTION
The City has contracted with Waste Management of Ohio to be our waste services provider, using the pickup cart system. Refuse is collected every Wednesday, unless there is a scheduled holiday prior to Rossford’s pickup day. Anything put into the refuse green lid cart must be bagged. There is no charge for refuse pickup, and one bulk item is allowed next to, but not leaning on, your cart. Call the City of Rossford at 419-666-0210 for bulk item scheduling and details. With the current Waste Management contract, however, there is a charge for recycling pickup from the yellow lid cart. Residents who choose to have recycling must setup an account directly with Waste Management by calling 1-866-797-9018. Recycling is collected every other Wednesday depending upon your location in the City and if you have a Waste Management account setup and payment arrangements made. Unlike trash cart regulations, recycling items must be loose in the cart and NO PLASTIC BAGS are allowed. Yard waste collection in a brown lid cart must also be setup with Waste Management directly.

To establish service for electricity, contact Toledo Edison at 1-800-447-3333.
To establish service for natural gas, contact Columbia Gas at 1-800-344-4077. For new construction or conversion, call 1-800-440-6111. For Call Before You Dig – OUPS, call 1-800-362-2764 or “811”.
To establish service for water, turn on/turn off, or billing questions, contact Northwestern Water & Sewer District at 1-877-354-9090. For stormwater sewer issues, please contact the City of Rossford Public Works Department at 419-666-0210, ext. 218.
To establish cable service, contact Buckeye Cable System at 419-724-9800.
PERMITS
Permits are required for many building projects. Prior to beginning any construction project, addition, fence, pool, concrete work, etc., call the Municipal Building at 419-666-0210 to be sure you meet all permit requirements. Visit our Zoning Department page to view permits online.
CITY TAX
As a Rossford resident you are responsible for 2.25% City income tax. There is mandatory filing for any resident that earns an income from wages, rental income, business income, and lottery/gambling income. Currently, the City does give credit for withholdings paid to another city of employment up to the 2.25%. The Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA) administers the City’s tax collections.
