Race for Recovery – Plan for Road Closures
October 24 @ 7:20 am - 9:30 am
On Saturday, October 24, the 2020 Race for Recovery 10K and 5K will start at 7:30am. The Rossford Police will be shutting down roads at 7:20 a.m. If you live on the path, or are blocked in a neighborhood that utilizes the path to leave town, you will not be able to drive in or out until the participants have all made it through that section of the race. We are planning that all roads should be open by 9:30 a.m.
For anybody that needs access in or out during this event from 7:20am to approximately 9:30am, there will be two golf cart shuttles available to take residents to and from their homes. Please park your vehicle Friday night in an area with access, such as Helen Drive, Jennings Road, or Windsor Drive, Hannum Avenue or the Rossford Marina. Prior arrangements must be made with City Hall by calling 419-666-0210 during normal business hours for the shuttle service. Road closures for the Race will be: StRt 65/Dixie Hwy from Bergin to Lime City Road and Eagle Point Road, Colony Road, all of the Eagle Point Colony subdivision, Homestead, Highland, Hidden Cove, Birch, Cherry, Harbor Point, Central, Hillside, Hillview, Colony Court, Eagle Ridge, Rossway, Vineyard and Groce. Residents and business owners that need to use these streets during the closure need to park their vehicles outside of the closed area prior to the start of the race. Shuttles will be available. No vehicular traffic will be allowed in most of that area; the route will be open to emergency vehicles; and opened as the race finishes. Check the Rossford Police Department and City of Rossford – Government Facebook page for a map of the race route.
The Race is organized by Racing for Recovery, based in Holland, Ohio. It is a nonprofit organization with a mission to prevent substance abuse and improve the quality of life for addicts and their loved ones by promoting a lifestyle of health, fitness, and sobriety.
