The Ohio Chautauqua tour will return to Rossford at Veteran’s Memorial Park and Marina, 300 Hannum Avenue, Rossford, Ohio 43460, Tuesday through Saturday June 19 – June 23, 2018. Ohio Chautauqua is a week-long, living history show that includes daily workshops for adults along with music and evening performances by scholars. The idea stems from the Ohio Chautauqua, which successfully visited Rossford in the past, a 19th century tradition established on New York’s Chautauqua Lake. Similarly, this will be a five-day enjoyable community event that combines living history performances, music, education, and audience participation into a one-of-a-kind experience. It is free and open to the public. The theme for 2018 is “Modern Legends: America in the Mid-20th Century” featuring labor leader and civil rights activist Cesar Chavez, US Attorney General Robert Kennedy, African-American Air Force General Benjamin Davis, feminist author Betty Friedan , and newspaper columnist Erma Bombeck. The event is being planned by the Rossford Convention & Visitors Bureau, City of Rossford, Rossford Public Library, and Rossford Record Journal. As details become available, specific information and schedule of the week’s events will be available at VisitRossfordOhio.com or by calling the Rossford Convention & Visitors Bureau at 1-855-765-5451.
